VCAAA, Assemblymember Irwin to host A Community Conversation on Aging

Ventura, Calif. – The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging is joining Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin to host A Community Conversation About Aging on November 8 at 10 a.m. at the United Food & Commercial Workers’ (UFCW) Orchid Room. The event is free and open to the public.

A Community Conversation About Aging will focus on the benefits and challenges of aging in Ventura County. The community is encouraged to participate in the discussion to help identify what resources are needed to help older adults age optimally. Guest speakers will include Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, who represents California’s 44th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Camarillo, Moorpark, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and the communities of Casa Conejo, Channel Islands Beach, El Rio, Lake Sherwood, Oak Park, and Santa Rosa Valley; Dr. Thomas J. Duncan, Trauma Medical Director for the Ventura County Medical Center and Co-Director of Anacapa Surgery Associates; Victoria Jump, Director of the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging; and Jeffrey Garcia, Disaster Services Manager for the County of Ventura.

Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with a variety of community organizations who will be hosting resource tables at the event.
