VCAAA Seeks Applicants for Advisory Council Vacancies
The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the Agency’s community-based Advisory Council. There are currently two vacancies, including one for a Consumer Representative, which will be filled by an older adult, a person with a disability, or a family caregiver that has used VCAAA services in the last two years. New appointments are now being considered for two-year terms beginning March 10, 2021.
The Consumer Representative will focus on providing guidance to VCAAA staff related to the needs and interests of older adults, people with disabilities, and family caregivers. A second opening is available on the California Senior Legislature in which the selected representative will serve as part of the statewide body that focuses on the interests of older adults in Sacramento. To access the application and associated forms, visit www.4csl.org.
Individuals with a vested interest in any of the vacant positions are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is February 23, 2021.

By law the Advisory Council is required to have a majority of its membership 60 years of age or older and reflect the economic, geographic, and ethnic composition of the County. Older adults and minority representatives are strongly encouraged to apply. The Advisory Council meets once a month six (6) times a year.
