The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) was formed in 1980 as an agency of the County of Ventura. Our mission is to promote the development and implementation of a comprehensive coordinated system of care that enables older individuals, children and adults with disabilities, and caregivers to live in a community-based setting and to advocate for the needs of those 60 years of age and older in the county, providing leadership and promoting citizen involvement in the planning process as well as in the delivery of services. The VCAAA Master Strategic Plan 2016-2020 outlines our agency’s three main goals in serving Ventura County’s older adults, adults with disabilities, and their unpaid caregivers:
1) Provide resources and services that promote optimal well-being, with an emphasis on wellness, safety and community livability;
2) Seek to broaden awareness of programs and services; and
3) Develop strategies to identify and address the current and anticipated future needs of the agency and those we serve.
